Chaminade University offers scholarships in data science with $1 million federal grant

Hawai‘i Data Science Institute partners at Chaminade University were recently awarded a National Science Foundation Data Science scholarship grant. Dr. Helen Turner, Chaminade University Vice President for Strategy and Innovation is the Principal Investigator (PI), with co-PI Dr. Alex Stokes, HIDSI member and jointly appointed faculty at University of Hawai‘iʻs John A. Burns School of Medicine and Chaminade.

“In this economy, this is especially great news, “ said Dr. Stokes. ”Chaminade will provide students with access to new job sectors in data analytics and I hope that these undergrads will be a pool of future talent for our graduate Data Fellows program at HIDSI”.
