AI @ HIDSI Fellows Program
AI @ HIDSI Fellows Program
The AI @ HIDSI Fellows program is a funded opportunity for graduate students who are currently enrolled at the University of Hawaiʻi, with strong research plans and have a research mentor, to complement their research and learning experience through participation in workshop development, HIDSI workshops, events and professional development throughout the academic year.
Accepted students participate in weekly Hawaiʻi Data Science Institute workshops, seminars and professional development activities, present two workshops during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters, present their research at the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 Research Showcases and engage as near-peer mentors during the summer.
Application information about the Fall 2028 cohort will be available in January 2027.

The Hawaiʻi Data Science Institute has an exciting lineup of workshops, featuring talks by fellows, HIDSI members, affiliate faculty and industry representatives. These workshops are free and open to all participants.
Our workshops are typically held in hybrid form, in Keller 103 on the UH Mānoa Campus and via Zoom on most Fridays at 11.30am HST.
