Summer Undergraduate Student Program SCIPE CI-SIP 2026 

The SCIPE CI-SIP (CyberInfrastructure Summer Immersion Program) will provide a one-month virtual immersion combining development of key skills and abilities in Cyberinfrastructure (CI) with a research project applying CI skills. The program will include self-paced introductions to data science modules and 4 weeks of immersion in which participants leverage CI resources and methods to support research. This program will take place virtually.

Participants will develop their skills in advanced computing, data science, analytics and visualization.

May 27 to June 26, 2026

Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm HST

Eligibility Requirements

  • Undergraduate students enrolled at any institution in Hawai’i and the Pacific are encouraged to apply.
  • All majors are eligible, non-computing majors are encouraged to apply.
  • To be eligible to participate and receive the stipend per NSF regulations, students must be citizens of the United States, nationals of the United States (as defined in section 101(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act), aliens admitted as refugees under section 207 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, or aliens lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence. All participants will be required to provide documentation of tax compliance prior to receipt of the stipend.
