I recently moved to Hawaii to pursue a PhD using machine learning methods to study Marine Biology. I studied Biology at Kenyon College in Ohio. My passion for Marine Biology comes from studying abroad in Bocas del Toro, Panama where I studied impacts of artificial reef structures on local fish assemblages. I am hoping to expand my research into Machine Learning and how we can effectively assess coral reef resilience through protein sequences.

    Education
    BS Biology – Kenyon College

    Research Interests
Current research interests include applications of natural language processing on genetic information. My main interests relate to assessing coral reef resilience to climate change. I hope to identify patterns in reef protein sequences to information restoration efforts on which corals will be more resilient to novel ocean conditions.
