Mingyue came to Hawaii from China to continue studying atmospheric sciences as a graduate student. She finds weather and climate fascinating and mysterious because, though they seem ubiquitous in our daily life, they still present us with many unsolved questions.

B.S. in Atmospheric Sciences, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology

Research Interest:

I am interested in atmospheric convection. For my work, I use primarily numerical models with high resolution to simulate clouds and their organized structures over the tropical ocean. In addition to climate and weather research, I am also interested in applying advanced visualization methods and machine learning to atmospheric research.
