Layne Fujioka

  • Data Science FellowMathematics / Physics

Layne Fujioka is in his third year as a math/physics major at UH.  Prior to joining the Hawaii Data Science Fellowship Program, Layn research exposure was limited to theory and abstract mathematics. His experience as Fellow has allowed him to apply his theoretical knowledge to a project which uses GPS data on ships for early detection of Tsunamis. Layne is confident that his experience as a Fellow will be favorable for his physics research in the future.  Layne is also working on a module for designing databases.
