Arianna Bunnell

Arianna is a graduate student in the department of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. Originally from Utah, Arianna moved to Hawai’i to pursue her doctoral degree in Computer Science, focused on AI applied to healthcare and for health equity. Arianna is co-advised by Dr. Peter Sadowski and Dr. John Shepherd.

Research Interests
Arianna’s research interests are in deep learning for medical imaging. Her current research is in deep learning for breast imaging, specifically in breast ultrasound for portable AI-empowered breast cancer screening and risk assessment solutions for the outer Pacific Islands. Arianna is also passionate about the study of healthcare AI ethics, particularly under feminist frameworks.
