Koa Research Storage Service
The University of Hawaiʻi (UH) Koa Research Storage Services offers three different storage solutions for researchers.
Please note: sensitive/restricted data cannot be stored with these services.
Contact uh-hpc-help@lists.hawaii.edu for sensitive/restricted data storage solutions. See the UH Institutional Data Governance Data Classification Levels for more info.
KoaStore is a high performance and scalable parallel file system backed storage solution that can be leased by UH faculty and staff. It is directly attached to the Koa cluster compute nodes and high-speed data transfer nodes.
KoaCloud is a reliable and cost-effective solution for storing and managing research data. This storage service gives you access to a range of features that are tailored for research and can easily scale up storage capacity as needed.
This storage offering is the ideal service for researchers who want to store their data securely and conveniently and access storage across all their lab and research devices.
Koa Condo Storage Service allows researchers to purchase storage as equipment that can be accessed via either the Koa Research or Koa Compute Storage services. This service allows researchers to pool funds to purchase approved storage hardware with a 5-year warranty. Researchers can then decide how to allocate their portion of storage to either the Koa Research Storage Service or the Koa Compute Storage Services or some of each.
Which Koa Research Storage Service is right for you?
The best Koa Research Storage Service for you will depend on your specific needs and requirements. If you are looking for a reliable and cost-effective solution for storing and managing research data, then KoaCloud is a good option. If you need high performance and scalable storage for your research, then the KoaStore is a better choice. And if you want to purchase your own storage hardware, then the Koa Condo Storage Service is the right option for you.
