Jaclyn Lee is an undergraduate studying Biological Engineering and Economics. As a student in the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources, she has an in-depth exposure to the various challenges Hawaii faces with resource allocation in fields such as energy, agriculture, and waste management. Through working on her senior design project for a rapid pathogen detection device, she has learned about the challenges that farmers face with agricultural diagnostics as well as issues in food safety and globalization. Jaclyn plans to go into resource economics and use data science to further explore how to optimize our use of resources. Currently, Jaclyn is working on the development of a module to introduce Python to non-programmers. Jaclyn is also working on a project with Smart Yields to optimize sensor deployment.
