An interested student and/or mentor contacts HIDSI and indicates an interest in being a HIDSI Fellow.
Student and mentor will propose a project for study (half page max), and understand the requirements of being a Fellow and Fellow Mentor.
HIDSI Directors will approve project and fellowship funding.
Dr.Stokes will help with hiring the student through a GA mechanism in the mentors department if needed.

- Inclusion of HIDSI acknowledgment in all publications/thesis.
- The Fellow provides a picture, bio and project abstract for HIDSI website.
- The Mentor provides a picture, and bio for HIDSI website.
- Mentor assists with the hiring process through their home department.
First semester:
- Data Science Friday.
- Weekly meeting or seminar at 2pm – every week during semester time.
- Mid-semester Fellows will present 10 minute project outline.
- End of semester Showcase – More formal – also 10 minutes
Second semester:
- Data Science Friday.
- Weekly meeting or seminar at 2pm – every week during semester time.
- Mid-semester Fellows will present 10 minute project update in poster format.
- Poster session presentation at the end of semester ML Symposium
