Workshop Description

In this workshop we will cover how the National Research Platform (NRP) can be used in the classroom and in research projects. The workshop will be geared towards educational use of NRP, but the tools covered, Jupyter notebooks, LLM as a service, AI workflows, AI chatbots for the classroom, are of broader relevance to education, and research alike. Hands-on material will allow attendees access to a national AI infrastructure, including CPUs, GPUs and Qualcomm Cloud AI 100 Ultra accelerators. We will cover various methods of requesting these resources including JupyterHub that provides interactive access and lower barriers for students new to such resources and provide an easy-to-use development environment. The workshop will guide participants in deploying custom JupyterHub environments and creating custom container images for classroom use. The workshop will also introduce agentic AI development and integrated tools for an enhanced learning experience.
