Workshop Description
This FREE workshop is sponsored by the University of Hawaiʻi Information Technology Service Cyberinfrastructure group and the Hawaii Data Science Institute (HI-DSI). This workshop focuses on the development of custom chatbots using AI and natural language processing (NLP) techniques. Participants will explore various aspects of chatbot creation, from basic concepts to advanced implementations, and learn about the applications of AI in enhancing chatbot functionality. Attendees will gain hands-on experience with tools such as Google Colab and various NLP libraries. The workshop will cover the basics of NLP, including data preprocessing, model training, and evaluation, as well as advanced topics like transformer models, fine-tuning, and integrating AI models into chatbot frameworks.
Prerequisites
- Be able to connect to the workshop in Zoom
- Have a modern web browser
- Basic understanding of Python programming
Learning objectives
By the end of this workshop attendees will be able to:
- Understand the basics of AI and natural language processing.
- Develop and deploy custom chatbots. Implement NLP techniques for data preprocessing, model training, and evaluation.
- Utilize transformer models and fine-tuning for advanced chatbot capabilities. Integrate AI models into various chatbot frameworks and platforms.
