Workshop Description

This workshop will focus on understanding how AI can assist us in weather forecasting and climate-related tasks. We will explore current approaches and operational use of state-of-the-art AI models. Attendees will learn how to build highly specialized networks which are ideal for a single task, and then transition into a more general approach by using AI climate emulators.

Prerequisites

Familiarity with Python and Jupyter notebooks.

Learning Objectives

Attendees will learn the basics of how AI can be used for weather and climate applications, current state-of-the-art methods and limitations.
